Viewing: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1-3 and 6-8, Monday, February 16

Service: A Blessing service held on Tuesday, February 17 at 9:30 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Epiphany of Our Lord Church of Monessen with Fr. Michael Crookston officiating.

Contributions may be made in Mr Vernet's name to : Jereme Dudzinski Foundation C/O Belle Vernon Area Credit Union 608 Rostraver Rd. Belle Vernon, PA 15012.

Interment: Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.

Obituary:

Joseph A. Vernet, 78 , of Belle Vernon, formerly of Monessen, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 in Mon Valley Hospital.

He was born June 19, 1936 in Monessen, a son of the late Harry and Mary Cenker Vernet.

He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church of Monessen. Joe was a Life Member of the Monessen Fire Department Company #1 . He was an avid outdoorsman and had served his country in the United States Army

He worked for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel , Allenport Plant, prior to his retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Vernet , daughter- Jennifer and husband Michael Pajewski of Indiana Twp, Son- Joe Vernet and fianc'e Olivia Allison of Friendship, Step daughters-Lisa and husband Jason Dacko of Newell, and Jennifer and husband Jonathan Dudzinski, of Belle Vernon. Grandchildren- Jordan Pajewski, Max Dacko, Ava and Nathan Dudzinski, and a sister-Dolores and husband Fred Kernisky.Also surviving are several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by First wife- Carolyn Kraynek Vernet and a brotherHarry Vernet.
