Viewing: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., family owned and operated as a member of the Golen Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen where friends will be welcomed from 1-3 and 6-8, Tuesday, January 27.

Service: A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., followed by Funeral Services at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Monessen.

Entombment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.

Obituary:

Susan Kraynek, 93 of Monessen, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Mon Valley Hospital.

She was born August 31, 1921 in Polom, Slovakia, Daughter of the late Michael and Susan Karas Selcan and had immigrated to America in 1926.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Monessen. Mrs. Kraynek had worked in a bakery, jewelry store, and she and her husband had been the Owners/Operators of the Chateau Lounge in Monessen. Her favorite job was her time spent as a Buyer/Inventory Manager for the late Abe Wilen at Eisenberg's Dept. Store in Monessen where she was employed for many years. She had enjoyed playing cards and trips to various casino's.

Susan's greatest energy was devoted to her family and friends, always willing to help and support those in need. She was grateful and respectful to those who had supported her in her life's journey.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years, -Walter Kraynek , Daughter- Susan Tybursky of New Hampshire, Son- Walter "Denny" Kraynek and wife Nanvy of McMurray Grandson- Ben Tybursky of New Hampshire, Sister- Elaine Lally of Munhall. Sister in law- Alice Selcan of Monessen. Numerous nieces and nephews in the United States as well as in her native homeland..

She was preceded in death by her sister- Margaret Daniels, Brother- John Selcan, and son in law- Stephen Tybursky. .
